Excellency Sir, Brother Leader Muammar Al-Ghadafi,
God Father of African Women.
I am using this medium to formally welcome you to Nigeria and to also re-introduce Women Advancement for Economic and Leadership empowerment in Africa WAELE/ARCELFA to you, an International organization for African women with chapters in 35 African countries, presently, and full representation in all the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory.
OUR MISSION is to strive to unify various groups and provide a stronger voice towards meeting African Women’s aspirations. Our long term objective is to have a strong, virile and committed organization that will continue to champion the sustainable emancipation of African Women.
As an organization, WAELE/ARCELFA has conducted a number of sensitization conferences and workshops to enhance the gender sensitivity of various Governments in Africa and to empower women to assert their God given rights to aspire to positions of leadership in governments, private sector and civil society. The most recent of such conferences was the Summit held on 27th Sept 2006, Where we mobilized Nigerian Women towards their participation in 2007 Election, Our Second Continental Conference was held in Abuja from 11th - 13th of July 2005 with representatives from 18 African countries. Hon. Mrs. Getrude Mongella, President of Pan African Parliament led the Tanzanian delegation and delivered the keynote address.
The West African Regional Conference was held earlier in Bamako, Mali in March 2005, with 14 countries represented.
WAELE/ARCELFA appreciates the immense contribution of Brother Leader H.E. Col Muammar Al-Gaddhafi to the development, empowerment and advancement of African women. You have always wished that the voice of African women be heard strongly and forcefully, you have called for the establishment of the United States of Africa similar to the United States of America and the European Union. You said and I quote: “I am confident that the African Woman is stronger than the African Man and could perform an historic role if given the opportunity”
As God Father of African Women, we are confident that you will make us strong by assisting WAELE/ARCELFA in establishing Vocational Training Center in African Countries for African women, as well as assist us in mobilising the women after training, by so doing, Your Excellency sir, You will be able to realise your goal towards the empowerment of the African Woman.
We pray that your effort in unifying Africa will not go in vain.
